Silently text 9-1-1 using your web browser!

LAKE MARY, FL - July 12, 2012

With 30 million hearing impaired Americans and 2.1 million burglaries a year, having a silent means of contacting 9-1-1 is critical. Since SMS texting is not supported by most 9-1-1 centers across the U.S and is not reliable, an alternate, readily accessible solution is required.

Today Ten43 Technologies is launching 911.ms, a web site that allows the public to instant message and send their location to participating 9-1-1 centers (also known as PSAPs) for emergency assistance. This can be particularly important for users in emergency situations where they are not able to speak or speaking is not ideal, or for the hearing or speech impaired. Designed to support desktops, feature phones, smart phones, and tablets means that most anyone has the ability to silently contact 9-1-1. For those situations where the person in need might be in a moving vehicle, 9-1-1 has the ability to obtain location updates. Augmenting 911.ms is our Advanced 911 app, which adds support for the transfer of photos, medical details, and your emergency contacts.

About Ten43 Technologies

Ten43 Technologies was founded in 2010 when it was recognized that 9-1-1 text messaging and the transfer of photos could be accomplished with purpose built mobile and web applications. He realized that there should be a readily accessible solution to handle all of a person's 9-1-1 needs, and that they shouldn't be limited to voice calls for help. From here he set to work and launched the Advanced 911 service in September 2011. We believe our success comes from a combination of working extraordinarily hard, being meticulous about design, focusing on user experience and making sure that every one of our products is an indispensable tool for public safety. We take exceptional pride in our products and we think it shows. For more information, visit www.ten43.com
